Halva Reinvented: Healthy, Versatile, Irresistible

Bodhi is proud to be associated with FeedMeGreen. This heart-led business based in Knysna found its way into my heart through my stomach. (Read this blog post, if you want to know about the best tahini you’ll ever try!)

As FeedMeGreen spreads its wings throughout the Western Cape and into Gauteng (keep an eye out for their products in selected stores soon), its founder - Nicholas Mclean - experiments with different flavours, unleashing his creativity.

In addition to a growing range of products, FeedMeGreen hosts “Slow Food Feasts” which combine good food, good company and good movement, leaving participants feeling satisfied in body, mind and soul.

As I’m writing this, I’m snacking on Halva Spread (straight out of the jar). Read what Nicholas has to say about this product range and then head to Bodhi’s online shop to grab yourself a jar to try!

Halva is traditionally made using tahini (sesame butter) and sugar to make a stiff crystalline fudge. I've decided to create a more expressive and healthy range of halva spreads. We blend stoneground tahini with raw honey and various natural flavours and activating spices for a healthy-licious treat to satisfy gut, body and mind.

How to eat halva

Halva can be served on fingers, yours or another's. It can be spread on bananas, dates, scones, crackers, crepes or even baked into various baked goods. I love the creamy texture and the subtle flavours halva brings to smoothies and hot drinks like hot chocolate, coffee, chai and various other hot drinks made from halva.

Bottom line is, you get to be unapologetically you in exploring what exotic desire or simple edible vehicle of choice in which to have your halva - to become you in the most delicious and innocent way of love, loving itself through a bottle of magic.

What people say when they taste it:

"Oh my God..." "That's amazing!" "I couldn't stop." "If you leave me with 10, I'll start looking like a jar of halva." "Keep it away from me." "Sooooo delicious!"

Not only is this a wholesome addition to your pantry, it also brings enJOYment into the kitchen. If you are not enjoying what you're eating, then what's the point? Take advantage of healthy and delicious products supplied by FeedMeGreen.
